Early Latin edition. Martin Chemnitz (1522-1586) was an eminent second-generation German, Evangelical Lutheran, Christian theologian, and a Protestant reformer, churchman, and confessor. In the Evangelical Lutheran tradition he is known as Alter Martinus, the "Second Martin". Examination of the Council of Trent is a large theological work. The work was originally published in Latin in four volumes between 1565 and 1573. It includes the decrees and canons of the Council of Trent analysed from a Lutheran point of view. This is volume 2 of the four volume work. Clasps missing. Wear to the cover. Some underlining.
