Delightful book of very short stories & Poems for young children. Beautifully Illustrated throughout with Full Page Monochrome Plates and many In-Text Drawings. Frontispiece Illustrated with a lovely Tipped-In Chromolithograph Plate of Children riding a Donkey on the beach. Stories include " The New Yacht", " The Stowaway" and "The Unexpected Donkey Ride". Dark Green cloth spine with Paper covered boards. Front cover has a beautiful Illustration of Children building a Sandcastle. Colours on the cover & Frontispiece bright & fresh. Printed in Bavaria. 10" Tall, 530g. Slight age darkening to pages, mainly around margins. Illustrated Bookplate pasted on Endpaper with no names. No other inscriptions except an old penciled price in corner of fee endpaper. Hinges sound. Binding is a little fragile and has been carefully reinforced with clear repair tape on a few pages. Some pages have a few patches or spots of light foxing, mainly marginal. Boards have some edge wear. Small piece of clear tape reinforces the cloth at very top of spine.
