Om de originaliteit van het werk te behouden onvingen de dichters slechts het juiste aantal bladen, voor de gedichten die zij dienden te schrijven. Verschrijvingen of verbetererde teksten, wat door het vele schrijven of vermoeienis soms voorkwam, zijn in het werk opgenomen. Bij de samenstelling werd geen rekening gehouden met strekkingen of stijl en zowel veelbelovende jongeren als oudere dichters met gevestigde naam zijn veretegenwoordigd. Voor poezieliefhebbers en bibliofielen is deze uitgave een uitzonderlijke gebeurtenis, die hen de mogelijkheid biedt, door het zeer persoonlijk karakter, ' dichter bij de dichters " te komen.
