This volume, from the "Detail and Scale" series, features the Dauntless dive bomber (in official US Navy terminology: Scout-Bomber Douglas). Already considered obsolete by the Navy at the time of Pearl Harbour, the Dauntless remained in action throughout the war, notably in the Battle of Midway. With photographs of eight meticulously restored aircraft, as well as archival material, Kinzey provides an in-depth look at every feature. The modeller's section concludes the book with reviews of the SBD Dauntless kits available, and a listing of after-market decals (adhesive transfers).
