Neuware - When a devastating attack cripples the United States, a family becomes trapped in their home while the father is working overseas. The attack leaves Brendan, his mom, brother and sister without power or communication and struggling to defend themselves as they try to survive. Luckily Brendan's dad left provisions and survival gear as he works in the intelligence community-a fact he never shared with his family. Rustling of the Sycamore could be considered a modern version of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer meets The Hunger Games. The book captures the heart of young readers by bringing to life real adventure and survival conditions in difficult situations. It stirs the imagination, encourages critical thinking, and spurs creative ideas as readers journey with the characters who overcome almost impossible odds and challenges. This epic saga teaches young men and women what it means to have to thrive when the convenience of cell phones, internet, grocery stores, and many of the conventional luxuries are no longer available. The story explores the power of family and how strong leaders rise up when required to save and protect themselves and the ones they love.…
