Print on Demand. This book takes an in-depth look at Lane County, Oregon from the vantage point of 1916. Exploring the local economy, public infrastructure, and community life through a variety of lenses, the author considers how lumber, agriculture, physical geography, and immigration converged to shape daily life. Whilst the report was initiated by the Presbyterian Country Church Work, its findings were endorsed by various religious organisations and the University of Oregon across denominational lines. The book paints a rich picture of life in the area one hundred years ago, examining how the past informed the present day of its writing, and providing a valuable resource for both historians and modern-day residents. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
