Q – So, what makes The Adventures of Misty & Moxie series special?

A – This is a terrific page-turning book to read with children or grandchildren as young as five. And that is a big reason that illustrator Gary McCluskey and I spent more than a year working on the many pictures in this novel--one for each chapter. Gary is a very talented artist, and his illustrations are magical. As an author concerned with the writing, this was a challenging experience. The hardest part of the process--making sure the pictures matched the details in the scenes in the novel. We also spent a lot of time on the faces of Moxie and Misty, working hard to make them just right!

And for those middle grade readers used to novels, well, we figured they'd enjoy the illustrations, too!

Q – Where did you get the idea for the story?

I rode the real-life Misty for many years at the Darwin Ranch in Wyoming, and she brought me much joy. When it was time for this wonderful horse to retire from carrying guests on trail rides at the Darwin, I arranged to move her to another ranch where she could peacefully spend her golden years. There Misty met her new mistress, the real-life Moxie Wyoming, and their story inspired me to write this young readers' novel, as well as produce the audio book version. For younger children, I've published the ColorRead with Me™ Storybook versions of the middle grade novels.

Q - What order should I read the books in?

A - You can read the two books in this series in any order. Runaway Rescue is a stand-alone action-adventure with a plot that ties up nicely at the end. Whether it's as a Kindle eBook, paperback, hard cover, or audio book, I hope readers enjoy The Adventures of Misty & Moxie Wyoming.

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days for any reason.

The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the the last good or the last lot or piece.

To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us, Better World Books, 55740 Currant Road, 46545, Mishawaka, Indiana, U.S.A., of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

Effects of cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
