Rules of the Jungle is more than just a book—it’s a guide, a friend, and a voice of encouragement for students stepping into the wild and often unpredictable world of middle school. At the heart of the story is Adonijah, a bright and thoughtful 7th grader, who receives an unexpected birthday gift—a vibrant macaw parrot named Pierre. But Pierre is no ordinary pet. He’s wise, witty, and full of jungle-born perspective. What makes their bond even more extraordinary? Pierre can talk—but only to Adonijah.
Through their growing friendship, Rules of the Jungle explores life’s challenges with humor, heart, and honesty. As Adonijah faces the pressures of school, friendships, identity, and self-doubt, Pierre becomes a trusted confidant, offering lessons from the wild to help him navigate his own.
Each chapter is filled with emotional depth and encouraging wisdom, guiding readers through the trials of adolescence with courage and clarity. The jungle becomes a metaphor for life—thick with uncertainty, yet rich with potential.
Perfect for upper elementary and middle school students, Rules of the Jungle empowers young readers to thrive, reminding them that even when the path is unclear, they are never alone—and that sometimes, the best guides come in the most unexpected forms.
