About the Authors: John Hunter grew up in regional Australia, where an uncluttered lifestyle nurtured his curiosity about the natural world. His fascination with how things work led him to the University of Melbourne, where he studied under some of the country's most distinguished scientists-exceptional educators who were also pioneers in their fields. He graduated with honors in Physics and later earned a degree in Engineering, equipping him with a deep understanding of astrophysics, mechanics, and beyond.But John's intellectual journey didn't stop there. His lifelong pursuit of knowledge extended into the realms of philosophy, driven by a desire to explore not just the mechanics of the universe but the fundamental principles that govern existence. After years of researching the work of others, he felt compelled to make his own contribution. The result is Rules for Eternity-a thought-provoking exploration of the principles that shape our world and beyond.

After graduating in Science at The University of Melbourne in 1966, Philip Rayment completed research degrees of MSc and PhD in mathematical statistics, working in the field of decision theory. In an academic career spanning over thirty-five years, he taught mathematics, statistics and scientific method at The University of Melbourne, the Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education, The Open University in the United Kingdom, Monash University and Federation University Australia. He has had a strong involvement in distance and online learning across his career.
