By Alexander Proudfit and published in Salem, New York by Dodd and Rumsey. 1806. 412 pp. 7.25” x 4.25”. 8vo. Contemporary hardcover full leather. In fair condition, with scuffing to boards and bumping to corners. Some losses to binding on spine, along with title label. Staining remnants to early pages. Some cracking and shakiness to hinges, with text block bound well. Light markings. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce collection of sixteen sermons by Alexander Proudfit (1770-1843), an American Presbyterian theologian and preacher who later served as an agent of the American Colonization Society. An extremely rare Salem, New York imprint.
