In 2011, the United Nations' Human Rights Commission ruled that laws penalizing dissenting views on historical topics violate the UN's Human Rights Charter. In addition, the UN's General Assembly passed a resolution in 2022 clearly violating the above-mentioned 2011 ruling: All nations are "to take active measures to combat" any dissenting views on this topic.
