Hardcover After nearly two decades of struggling to maintain its combat effectiveness with ageing and outmoded front line aircraft, the Royal Air Force appears today to be about to take its rightful place again as one of the most advanced air forces in the world. But against a background of tightening defence budgets at home and burgeoning Soviet technological advance, will the Royal Air Force be able to carry out the multiplicity of roles demanded of it in the defence environment of the closing decades of this turbluent century? This is the question which the author seeks to answer in this book. But what about the men who fly and maintain the aircraft? As the Royal Air Force has repeatedly demonstrated in its history, men are as important as machines and here too the Royal Air Force remains strong and professional. Illustrated. Very slight foxing to end pages. Slight waterstain marks to inside D/J.(We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).…
