In response, Jose Ayub Gonzalez Garrido has developed a caching strategy which will allow nodes to efficiently adapt their cache to reconfigurations in the network. This cache mechanism is implemented for the Dynamic Source Routing protocol (DSR), improving its standard performance. In addition the author gives a brief overview of the routing challenges in ad hoc networks, focusing on on-demand routing. It also provides a complete simulation methodology and analyses many cache metrics to determine routing efficiency.
