The first edition of this work of fiction by Gerald Durrell, in the original dust wrapper. The first edition. In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dustwrapper designed by Jack Larkin. This fiction novel was written by naturalist and author Gerald Durrell. This work follows the story of Adrian Rookwhistle who, after the passing of his uncle, receives an elephant as his inheritance, who's high jinks are more than he can handle. In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with only slight offsetting to the spine as a result of the dust wrapper and a very slight lean. The odd minor spot to the endpapers only. The wrap is also excellent with only light sunning to the spine. Internally firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Light spotting to the fore edge. Very Good Indeed.
