The roses have bloomed early. This time, they are remembering a man the world insists never existed.
After surviving the Quiet Event, archivist Millie Spence is trying to rebuild an ordinary life. But ordinary becomes impossible when the roses outside Agnes Kane’s bakery bloom before their season and Agnes keeps setting out two cups, though she cannot remember who the second one is for.
Thomas Ottley is missing from every official record. His marriage has been erased, his name rewritten, and even Agnes’s memories can no longer be trusted. Yet the objects he left behind, receipts, letters, clocks and roses, continue to remember him.
As streets change their names, doors lock themselves and messages begin predicting what will happen next, Millie, William Carnell, Diana Asbury and Mr. Pym are drawn into a chase through a London where memory is becoming evidence.
The records say Thomas Ottley never existed.
The second cup keeps waiting.
The roses remember the rest.
And if Millie cannot discover why Thomas was erased, Agnes may be corrected next.
Roses for the Man Who Was Wrong is Book Two of The Flower Collection, an emotional mystery series about hidden worlds, unreliable memories and the ordinary things that refuse to forget.
