Nowick Gray is a drumming performer and teacher with thirty years of experience playing West African rhythms. His popular Roots Jam rhythm books, YouTube videos, audio compositions and instructional web pages have helped beginning, intermediate and performing drummers understand and play traditional African-based rhythms since 1996.
With Roots Jam 4 you can quickly cross-reference popular beats for djembe, dunun, or conga drums; copy complete arrangements for samba bands; and even learn Indian tabla patterns selected especially for kirtan. Groove on funk polyrhythms for DJ mixes, trance dance, or tribal drum circles, and access bonus audio tracks for more inspiration.

Review
Praise for Roots Jam rhythm books...
Great and comprehensive source for every djembe player, from pure n00b to real djembefola!
Amazing resource for any serious hand drummer. The rhythms are all portrayed in an easy to follow format which allows the drummer to practice and rapidly learn them. I am currently facilitating a drum circle and finding the book to be very useful not only in teaching rhythm ensembles but for my own continuing improvement.–William E. Clark
Clear content, well organised information, love to read and love to play according to!
The wealth of knowledge is invaluable. Never gets old.
