Born in Lana, Italy, Oswald Egger has spent most of his life in -Vienna. At forty years of age, he has already published numerous volumes of poetry and won several major European poetry awards. This work—Green Integer’s first collaboration with Villa Aurora in Los Angeles—is writing within a complex of linguistic devices accompanied by a sort of Dadist-like appendage of notes and other commentary.
Synopsis: These poems are partly based on texts Oswald Egger wrote while a fellow at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles. The original, largely conceived during his walks in Rustic Canyon in Pacific Palisades, was published by the German publisher Suhrkamp Verlag in 2001. Translator and composer Michael Pisaro collaborated with Egger to create a new English text for this bi-lingual edition, laid out in parallel construction, as lineated poetry above and prose below.
