A scarce artistic analysis of the rood-screen in Saint Helen Church in Ranworth, considered among the best medieval artworks. The scarce first edition of The Rood-Screen of Ranworth Church, an artistic analysis, written by art archivist and author Edward Fairbrother Strange. In the publisher's original blue paper boards, with numerous in-text engrave illustrations. The Church of Saint Helen in Ranworth is known for containing numerous medieval artefacts, and its rood-screen, analysed in this work, has been considered among the best artworks of the period. Strange was an assistant keeper at the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as a member of the Japan Society, writing numerous studies on Japanese illustration. The final leaf contains an appeal for repairing the church. In the publisher's original blue paper boards. Externally, spotting to boards, and browning, mostly to the extremities. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities, with small loss to paper. Offsetting to free end papers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good.…
