About the Author: Founded in 2002 by Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors is a comprehensive design firm based in New York City. They were awarded the prestigious 2011 Palladio award. Drawing on the historic architectural model, the firm's scope includes architecture, interior design and a forthcoming furniture line for Design Within Reach and bath fixtures for Waterworks.

Jamie Brisick is the author of We Approach Our Martinis With Such High Expectations and Have Board Will Travel: The Definitive History of Surf, Skate, and Snow. His stories have appeared in such publications as the New York Times, The Guardian, and Details.

Actor and film director/producer Ben Stiller is a prolific talent. Standefer and Alesch did the production design for his films Zoolander and Duplex and and designed his homes.
