Synopsis:

Five years after the historic decision of the Church of England to have women priests, a discernable shift has taken place in Christianity in the English speaking world. Far from only affecting the Anglican world, it has irreversibly changed the relationship between the two most major Christian churches.

Led by the former Anglican Bishop of London, Dr Graham Leonard, disaffected Anglicans sought to move en-masse to the Catholic Church. Although this movement has yet to be seem in great numbers, this book argues that the ‘Anglo-Catholic’ voice within the Church of England has been weakened to the extent that it will still become truly Protestant for the first time since the Reformation. With unique ‘behind-the-scenes’ stories, this is a startling assessment of the most major realignment to take place in Christianity for centuries.

About the Author:

William Oddie is a writer and broadcaster. He writes a weekly column in the ‘Daily Mail’ newspaper and regularly contributes to the ‘Telegraph’, ‘The Tablet’ and the ‘Catholic Herald’. A former Anglican vicar, he is now a Catholic layman and lives with his family in Oxford.
