Worn rubbed and damaged full leather binding, split to the front joint with the front board detached, cracked to the rear joint, diced calf boards, worn and rubbed, spine lacking the title label, worn and rubbed with loss to the top and base of the spine. Tight text block with 14 engraved plates. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece and 13 plates (7 folding). Frontispiece with a hole to the portrait and loss of some of the image. Recently rebound in a half calf. Pagination: xxvii, [i], 29-353, [29]pp Index and Scriptores. Provenance: dedication to H Harrison from Rev d R Roberts and signature for R Sutherland, and a rubbed-out signature. Approximately 8 ½ inches tall (22cm). Condition Report Externally Spine poor to fair condition lacking title label, rubbed and worn with minor loss, five raised bands, gilt decoration to the compartments. Joints poor condition both joints split with front board detached. Corners fair condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition diced calf boards, front board detached, marked, worn with minor loss to the edges. Page edges good condition top edge darkened, all are tanned and foxed. See above and photos. Internally Hinges poor condition cracked and front board detached. Paste downs good condition marbled. End papers good condition marbled. Title good condition tanned with some foxing. Pages good condition b/w frontispiece portrait and 13 plates, 7 of which are folding and all complete, pages tanned with some foxing. Binding poor condition worn with faults. See photos.
