Hardback. The Roll of St. Edward's School 1863-1963. Slight foxing to end inside covers and edge. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. The Centenary Edition of The Roll of St. Edward's School records the details, such as are known, of every boy educated at the School between the Summer Term 1863, when Sayer and Becket became the first two inhabitants of Mackworth House, and the Summer Term 1963, when Roll Number 5960 was allocated to a New Boy. The History of St. Edward's School written by Mr. R. D. Hill and published in 1962 tells the fascinating story of the first hundred years of our existence. In its pages we read of the chief actors in the drama - 'all these were honoured in their generations, and were the glory of their times'. This volume, its companion, tells its story in a different way. Here we find in lists and notes the story, not only of those who made history, but also all those who as Governor, Warden, Assitant Master, P{rofessional Adviser, or boy, loved and served this School and in so doing helped to shape its traditions and to ensure its success. 495 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).…
