About the Author
Prof. Anupam Srivastav is a very senior academic, currently holding the position of Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Middle East College (MEC) since September 2022. Before this, he has held the position of Professor and Associate Dean – Academic Affairs in the same institution since April 2012. Before this, he has held the position of Professor and Director (and later as Professor & Pro-Vice Chancellor) from 2002 to 2012. His teaching and research experience, and interests are in Manufacturing and Materials Science, (particularly Biomaterials) and Composite Materials, as well as Tribology, Corrosion Studies and Alternative / Renewable energy. He is life member of two professional bodies in India and member of five international professional bodies. Prof. Anupam has supervised 04 PhDs and has successfully completed many externally funded research projects as the Principal Investigator/Co-PI. He has authored a Chapter in an edited book on Biomaterials and has two patents, jointly published with his doctoral / masters students. He has about 35 years’ experience in industry, teaching and research including about 34 years’ teaching experience, that also includes 26 years in academic administration/ leadership as Head of Department, Director, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dean, and Associate Dean – Academic Affairs at national and international academic institutions. He has extensive experience of leading programme development, reviews, and monitoring, as well as in planning, deploying, and using different pedagogical approaches for teaching and learning. In addition to the leadership / administrative positions detailed in next section below, Prof. Srivastav has served as Chair of Academic Affairs Committee, Chair of Examination (Assessment) Board, and Chair of Academic Exemption Committee at MEC from October 2016 – September 2022. He former ex-officio member of the Management Board and member of the College Board of MEC. In addition, he has also served as Vice-Chair of Teaching and Learning Committee / Academic Affairs Committee of MEC from 2012 to 2016. Prof. Anupam has also served as Vice Chair of Executive Council and Academic Council of IFTM University, India as well as Chair of Faculty Board and Board of Studies of the same University during January 2010-March 2012. Additionally, he has also served as a member of Executive Council of M.J.P Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, India in 2006. He also served as Ex-Officio Member of Assessment Board and the Academic Council of Caledonian College of Engineering, Muscat, Oman during March 2008-December 2009. In addition to contribution in teaching, research, and academic leadership, he has been actively involved with student activities portfolio throughout his academic career, including especially at MEC with professional bodies such as BCS, UK; ICE/JBM, UK; CILT, UK; IET, UK; and IMechE, UK for programme student memberships, chapters and accreditations.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.
Information regarding the right of withdrawal
Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Rarewaves.com USA, Unit 144 The Lightbox, 111 Power Road, W4 5PY, London, London, United Kingdom, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
