About this title

Synopsis

In "Abschiedsrede Des Professors Carl Freiherr Von Rokitansky," Karl Rokitansky, a towering figure in 19th-century medicine, delivers his farewell address. This historical document provides insight into the career and thought processes of one of the founders of modern pathology. Rokitansky, known for his systematic approach to autopsies and his contributions to understanding disease processes, reflects on his experiences and the evolving landscape of medical science in Vienna.

This address offers a unique glimpse into the intellectual climate of the time and Rokitansky's perspectives on the future of medicine. It serves as a valuable resource for historians of medicine, scientists, and anyone interested in the development of medical thought in the 19th century. Preserved in its original German, this text captures the essence of Rokitansky's contributions and his lasting impact on the field.
