Markov, the author of the books Essays on Crimea , Journey to the Holy Land and other geographical and ethnographic publications, well known to bibliophiles. Most of the stories collected in this book by Sharkey were published at different times on the pages of foreign periodicals: in Russian Thought , Russian Life , New Russian Word and others. The book includes memories of the life of the writer's family in old Russia, emigrant notes about Egypt and San Francisco, and stories about animals.
