Citrus Heights, California. Privately published by the author. 2003. Quarto (11 x 8). 332 pp. including title index. Deluxe Edition. Book number 2 of 6 copies published. Signed by Valerie Haig-Brown and Robert Bruce Cave on the limitation and description page. With a hand coloured tipped-in drawing highlighting Roderick Haig-Brown's created fly pattern, the "Silver Lady," and a graphite drawing showing Haig-Brown's book, Fisherman's Fall, and a Hardy reel. This exquisitely rendered illustration was especially commissioned for the book and was drawn by Victoria B.C. artist Loucas Raptis. Includes a bound-in color facsimile printing of Roderick Haig-Brown's manuscript and first published article in 1924 "The Morning Rise on the River F" [Frome]. The deluxe edition was published in celebration of the Roderick Haig-Brown Festival held in Campbell River, British Columbia, in September 2003. Each of the six copies published with distinct and unique artwork by Loucas Raptis. Foreword by Van Egan. Color frontispiece of the author's Haig-Brown collection. Color plates of salmon reproduced from the Salmon Portfolio published by Environment Canada in 1974. Previously unpublished photos of the Haig-Browns. Complete physical descriptions of Haig-Brown's books and pamphlets and related materials. The book is bound in full burgundy calf with gilt titles on the spine, raised hubs with gilt rules. Burgundy silk moire end papers. The book is kept in a gray cloth drop-back box, with black titles, lined with silk. In fine condition.
