First published in 1843, this work is scarce in all editions.Archer was author of numerous works of popular historical fiction, including a work about Richard the Lionheart.This charming and thrilling tale follows the adventures of Clan-Alpine Chief Roderick Dhu, termed 'The Scottish Outlaw' by the author.Printed in two columns, and with numerous vignette illustrations throughout.A smart copy of this scarce historical romance. In a half calf binding with cloth covered boards. Fading to back strip, with rubbing to back strip head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, with significant handling marks to first few leaves, and further handling marks throughout.
