Have you ever wondered how can complex scientific topics be easily explained to your toddlers? Have you always wanted to help your children become broad-minded and intelligent people with a solid scientific understanding of the world? "The Earth for Toddlers" book series helps you communicate interesting and important topics from the various disciplines of Earth sciences that would help you and your kids understand how the biggest system we know functions - the Earth! What is the solid earth we live on made of? What makes the ocean's move? Why does climate change and how does the atmosphere actually "work"? How can continents move and why volcanoes erupt? How do we know the age of the Earth and the rocks it is made of? All these questions and more are explained and discussed in a simple and straight-forward approach that would make it crystal clear to you and your toddlers.
In "The rock cycle for toddlers", we explain what are rocks and lay the foundations for the understanding of different types of rocks and their importance in shaping the solid Earth we live on. The rock cycle is one of the most basic topics in Earth sciences, which makes this book a must-have for every parent who wants his children to understand the most basic concepts of nature, as basic as gravity. The book was carefully designed to meet the scientific standards and is illustrated with exquisite and original artwork. It also comes with a lexicon at the end, for those of you who wish to get a more detailed explanation on the key topics presented in the books. We are certain that you would enjoy it!
About us: we are a couple of geologists and the parents of one amazing and curious child. We both have a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Earth science and geology. Gal works at a geological survey, while Yoav is pursuing a Ph.D. in hydrology. We believe that introducing scientific concepts at a young age is crucial for raising intelligent and inquisitive people, and have established "The Earth for Toddlers" series so that you can do so as well. We hope that you and your children will enjoy this book and learning about the rock cycle. Arabic translation by: Iyad Swaed and Dr. Israel Ben Dor
