Robinson Crusoe (1975 Edition) by Daniel Defoe ? Everyman?s Library | Crappy Old Books Stranded, resourceful, and utterly alone (well, until Friday shows up), Robinson Crusoe is the original tale of island survival and British grit. This 1975 Everyman?s Library edition brings Defoe?s 1719 classic to your shelf in no-frills, mildly musty style?just the way we like it at Crappy Old Books. Whether you?re revisiting the book that launched a thousand desert island daydreams or finally giving in to literary guilt, this sturdy little hardback is perfect for collectors, readers, or anyone who enjoys the smell of aging paper and colonial self-reliance. It?s old, it?s crusty, it?s brilliant. And yes, we checked?there?s probably still sand in it. Grab your copy before it gets shipwrecked again. Nice condition. Obvious signs of wear and age but the spine is virtually unfolded, just one crease down it and page edges still crisp.

Review
"From the Hardcover edition."
"Beyond the end of "Robinson Crusoe" is a new world of fiction. Even though it did not know itself to be a 'novel, ' and even though there were books that we might now call 'novels' published before it, "Robinson Crusoe" has made itself into a prototype . . . Perhaps because of all the novels that we have read . . . the novelty of Defoe's fiction is the more striking when we return to it. Here it is, at the beginning of things, with its final word reaching out into the future." -from the Introduction by John Mullan
