Synopsis:

The king is dead, Viguran has shattered to pieces, hundreds lay dead. The young Devro and his ruthless uncle, Ultiir, wage a war across the land. Destroying towns and slaughtering their enemies in the pursuit of the throne. Devro has sent his envoys on a quest to gain new allies, but Ultiir might be one step ahead.

Far to the south, the captured Prince Bertin, beaten and bloody, is shackled by elves, being escorted through the vast grasslands with no end in sight. He must choose whether to give in to his despair or enact his revenge on those who killed his friends.
