About the Author: Joseph Freeman was born in Poland in 1915. He spent 1939-1945 in the Polish ghetto, labor camps and death camps until he was rescued by an American soldier. He immigrated to the United States shortly after the end of World War II. He and his wife, Helen, live in Pasadena, California.
