Paperback. In Velkyn's Hollow, magic is witnessed, recorded, and controlled-or so the council insists. Nuria Vale has spent her life watching the town accept its rituals as truth. As a master smith, she knows better than most that something can be made to look inevitable merely because skilled hands have shaped it that way. She has no intention of becoming another answer entered neatly into someone else's ledger. Then an impossible connection begins to surface between Nuria and Kayd Merrick: a quiet, undeniable thread that does not follow the rules the Hollow has built its life around. As the council moves to contain what it cannot neatly name, Nuria and Kayd must decide how much they are willing to surrender to keep the lives they have built-and whether what exists between them can remain theirs once the Hollow demands an answer. The first in the Velkyn's Hollow series, where each romance has its HEA, The Rite of Recognition is an atmospheric, slow-burn romantic fantasy about desire, choice, and the dangerous tenderness of being seen clearly.
