Risk is all around us. All organizations deal with risk on a daily basis. They deliver services that fall short. They create marketing initiatives that fail to resonate with customers. Their everyday actions are littered with risks, yet they continue to operate. Why should the risks related to innovation be treated differently?
Innovation is neither a phenomenon nor an obscure talent you are born with; it is a science that can be learned and fused into the DNA of any organization.
The biggest barriers to innovation success for any organization are an aversion to risk and a fear of failure. In today’s hyper-paced business world, however, the mantra is, “Innovate or die.” There is no alternative; be the disruptor, or be disrupted.
Risk-Free Innovation dismantles the fear of risk-taking in innovation by providing a framework to help companies confidently manage uncertainty. Co-authors Thomas Kuczmarski and Jacob Sherman blend their combined expertise with virtual content to deliver their ten innovation risk reducers in a dynamic, insight-rich combination of text and augmented reality. The authors have gathered the best kept secrets from 40 years of innovation experience and streamlined the information into a simple, ten step formula for readers to utilize to their advantage. The online templates provided alongside each risk reducer promote continued engagement with the content, allowing readers to gain further insights into the risk free innovation process. From cultivating a culture of innovation to outlining specific strategies for low-risk innovation projects, this book is a must-read for anyone hoping to accelerate their innovation efforts, conquer their fear of risk, and sustain their organization’s long term growth.
Risk-Free Innovation isn’t just a book about innovation; it’s an innovative book. Throughout the pages are augmented reality experiences and links to supplemental content. Readers will not only learn from the text, but also gain digital access to a continuous supply of new content and resources to ensure they can turn instruction into action. This virtual learning hub will continue to be updated and expanded over time, making this book an ever-evolving tool for business leaders, executives, educators, life-long learners, and entrepreneurs. Put simply, Risk-Free Innovation is an innovative, interactive book created for innovators, by innovators.
The 10 Risk Reducers are a means for companies to rationalize innovation as a relatively unpredictable but manageable function. Included are the tools to formulate teams, improve internal processes, develop growth strategies, and foster cultures that allow a business to thrive in today’s hyper-competitive marketplace.
