Not a theoretical win rate. Not a backtest that excludes costs. The Rising Three Methods is a five-candle continuation pattern documented in candlestick textbooks for thirty years. Every trader has read about it. Almost nobody trades it profitably.
The reason is the entry. Entering at the confirmation candle close produces 55%. Entering four pips below it — at the pullback that occurs in the first minute after confirmation — produces 83.5% across 232 filled trades and two years of real data with every IC Markets RAW cost included.
The numbers:- 83.5% win rate — highest of any Edge Series strategy
- 25 out of 25 positive months at the portfolio level
- 2.58 profit factor across all six instruments
- XAUUSD: 94.6% win rate, 26 out of 26 months
- EURUSD: 100% win rate across 34 filled trades
- All six instruments profitable — EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, GBPJPY, AUDUSD, XAUUSD
- Why the four-pip pullback entry produces 83.5% while the candle-close entry produces 55% — and the market mechanics behind this difference
- The precise structural definition separating genuine patterns from the five most common false formations
- Why containment applies to wicks not just bodies — and what the data shows when wicks violate the boundary
- The pullback depth data across three, five, ten, and fifteen minute windows after confirmation
- The three backtest versions — including the one that produced 94% continuation and why that number cannot be traded
- Pair-by-pair results with honest commentary on the weakest performer
- The psychology of an 83.5% win rate — why high win rates are more dangerous than low ones
GBPJPY is documented honestly. Its 68.4% win rate — the lowest of the six instruments — and its low fill rate are shown in full. The strategy works on GBPJPY in aggregate. It is the instrument to monitor most carefully in live trading.
