About the Author: Tatiana Rimsky-Korsakov (1915-2006), granddaughter of the composer, wrote two books in Russian about him - one about his childhood and youth, and one about his later life - on which this book is based. MALCOLM J. CROCKER is a widely honoured expert in acoustics; his many publications include the four-volume Encyclopedia of Acoustics. MARGARITA MAKSOTSKAYA has degrees in music and linguistics from Saint Petersburg State University in Russia. She is currently a visiting/research scholar at Auburn University.
