Large Oblong Octavo. Unpaginated. Original light blue cloth with blind-stamped lettering on cover and spine. Yellow endpapers. 'In societies that encourage plausible denial of death it seems difficult to find perspectives on what matters in life.' (Andrew George). Catalog of a traveling exhibition featuring twenty color portrait images of terminally ill patients, accompanied by their statements on the meaning of life, regrets, fears and vulnerabilities, with a facsimile letter by each of them. The catalog is printed to heavy stock paper throughout with color portraits of patients on the left page, statements on facing pages with facsimiles of handwritten letters on a fold-out page attached to the printed statements. After each of the twenty personal sequences two pages with variant solid colors. Contains foreword by Andrew George and an introduction by the Marwa Kilani, Medical Director, Palliative Care, at the Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, California. Transcriptions of all patient letters at rear. The exhibition traveled from Brugge to San Francisco, Los Angeles (both 2016), Korea from 2017â "2019, Germany 2019, and is scheduled in Japan for 2020.
