"The Right Words: Teaching the Post-16 to Spell" explains why and demonstrates how the tutor/trainer can help learners to beat poor spelling. In an accessible step-by-step way it takes the reader through the process of identifying a problem, dealing with the problem and reviewing progress.
Advice is given on identifying spelling weaknesses and a range of possible approaches are described and evaluated. To make this book more meaningful Jill and Tony, two case-study students, are followed through this process.
Throughout the publication close reference is made to the Adult Literacy Core Curriculum so teachers can be confident that their work with the student meets the required standards. Guidance is also given as to how to use and understand the Litercay Core Curriculum and perspectives offered on some of the wider issues around teaching Literacy to those over 16. More book information can be found on the publishers website.
