This book is, in many ways, a continuation of research on applied creativity by the authors. Am I clever or am I stupid was an international bestseller, as were Creativity Uncovered and The Ordinary Millionaire. What became apparent after my seven years of research on the potential of young children was that children in the age range 0-3 demonstrate, what we would call in this book, 'rich brain' qualities.
Often because of 'poor brain' parenting and education, children grow up believing that a rich brain life is just for a selected few. They start negating and disaffirming their natural traits like creativity, passion, courage, and energy and follow common and traditional pathways for which they are most rewarded. They are guided to think and making choices that preserve rather than enhance and enrich. We know, and what our research has proven time after time, is that children and adults of all ages and cultures do not lose their ability to make 'rich brain' choices. These choices can be learned and taught.
In this book, we look at rich and poor brain choices when it comes to our finances. The authors unpack the typical 'poor brain' choices and then illustrate how you can change this disabling habit of choosing 'poor' when you do have the ability to choose 'rich'. The poor brain choices within each dimension of the brain are identified - these are the choices that shape and form our fixed mindset and beliefs. But we all have other rich brain options, and these options are clearly illustrated and unpacked.
Historians will one day go into detail about how 2020 impacted every aspect of our existence. They will also hopefully focus on why specific individuals, groups, and organizations, despite extreme difficulties and crises, thrived and prospered. There will always be tough and challenging times, and if we pursue these with flawed brain thinking and a poor brain attitude, hard times will always overwhelm us. But this book presents the alternative - a rich brain that enables you to thrive financially even in the most challenging times.
The words of Simone de Beauvoir now ring more accurate than ever before:
"Change your life today. Don't gamble on the future; act now, without delay." - Kobus Neethling

He encourages people with a passion, to serve a purpose, even if the profit is secondary to improving the lives of the community.Although there are many challenges that face our country, Wouter believes that one of the solutions is entrepreneurs standing up and creating opportunities for those without the resources to do so alone. The key to this is acknowledging the importance of innovation, something he believes we desperately need in South Africa. It's important for Entrepreneurs to constantly reflect on the values of innovation, optimism and making a difference. He notes that we have a beautiful country and that each of us needs to accept our responsibility to provide solutions to the problems that face it and its people. Providing employment and a place for people within society is essential for our success as a country. Our individual success should be as a result of focus on social responsibility and providing a product that improves peoples' lives. This is based on the fundamental principal of adding value to the life of your consumer. Wouter challenges each of us to make a difference and take responsibility for the future of South Africa, urging us to learn that giving is just as important as receiving and reminding us that we need to live life with passion.
