Print on Demand. This book examines situations where medical professionals struggle to choose between two extreme and opposing options for delivering babies in cases of an obstructed birth canal. Delving into the historical backdrop of these dilemmas, the author explores the factors that have shaped medical opinion and practice, including moral, religious, and legal considerations. The author focuses on one specific aspect of the problem: extreme narrowing of the mother's pelvis, and the resulting choice between sacrificing the baby in order to save the mother, or performing a cesarean section with inherent risks to both. Ultimately, this book offers valuable insights into the ethical and medical dilemmas faced by healthcare professionals dealing with these difficult birth complications. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. …
