Paperback. Electrical Engineer Declan Harre, 32, learns through a series of mysterious letters left for him in odd places that everything he believed about his life isn't what it seems. Unable to ignore the information in the letters and its implication, Declan begins to investigate. What he uncovers is that his best friend has engineered a sinister drug for a large drug company scheduled to be released within four months, unless Declan stops him. Worse, Declan is given reason to believe his own wife is involved and having an affair. As Declan works to stop the development and release of the drug, he attracts the attention of the masterminds behind the plot, an elite and deadly group of office-holding government officials and powerful, high-profile executives determined to silence him. Pulled unwittingly into the midst of a political conspiracy bigger than he imagined, Declan comes to a life-altering realization-to make a change in the system that he sees is very corrupt, he has to beat them at their own game first. But as Declan turns the table on his adversary, orchestrating the downfall of the elite group with his own bank robbery and a murder, the line between mastermind and pawn becomes blurred. Just who exactly is leading whom in this deadly game of chess? Even as the last of the players are unveiled and positioned on the board, Declan realizes he may have made a fatal miscalculation in overlooking the most important figure-the person behind the letters. Written with the suspense you might expect from shows like "Prison Break and Dexter" this book takes you on a true to life journey through one mans great struggle and the hopelessness he feels in society.
