John K-J Li is a Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Fellow, American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, Fellow, American College of Cardiology, Fellow, American College of Angiology, Fellow, Academy of Medicine of New Jersey; IEEE Millennium Medal, International Union of Physiological Sciences Award, US Patents; Editor-in-chief, Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering Book Series, World Scientific; Author of Dynamics of the Vascular Systems, The Arterial Circulation: Physical Principles and Clinical Applications, Comparative Cardiovascular Dynamics of Mammals; Teaching Excellence Awards and Advisor to more than 100 MS and PhD students and over 200 Senior Design Students.
Li-Shan Chou is a Professor and Chair in Department of Kinesiology at the Iowa State University (ISU). Dr Chou received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tatung Institute of Technology in Taiwan, and subsequently earned his MS and PhD degrees, both in Mechanical Engineering, from University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as completed his postdoctoral training at University of Chicago and Mayo Clinic. He has served on the faculty of University of Oregon for 19 years (4 years as the Department Head of Human Physiology) before joining ISU in 2019. His interdisciplinary research investigates biomechanical markers that lead to sensitive detection and understanding of underlying mechanisms related to mobility/balance impairments associated with ageing, musculoskeletal diseases or injuries, and traumatic brain injury. His research works have received funding from the Medical Research Foundation of Oregon, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute of Health, and Department of Defense. Up to date, he has mentored 18 PhDs and many masters and undergraduate students, and his team published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers. His teaching is in the areas of biomechanical analysis of human movement, orthopedic biomechanics, and rehabilitation engineering. He is a Fellow of American Society of Biomechanics and serves as the Associate Editor and Section Editor to Gait and Posture and Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, respectively. He is also the past-president of the International Society of Biomechanics 3D Analysis of Human Movement Technical Group.
Tung-Wu Lu is a Professor at the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Orthopaedic Surgery and Occupational Therapy, and Chair of the Health Science and Wellness Research Center at National Taiwan University. Dr Lu received his D.Phil. in Orthopaedic Engineering from the University of Oxford in 1997. His research interests include human motion analysis, orthopaedic and imaging biomechanics, sports medicine, and wearable and assistive technology. He has published over 210 journal papers and delivered numerous conference keynote and invited lectures. He has supervised over 150 MS and PhD students and received the New Investigator Recognition Award from the Orthopaedic Research Society (USA) and the NTU Academic and Teaching Excellence Awards. He has been Editor-in-Chief for Biomedical Engineering: Applications, Basis, Communications and WS Annual Review of Biomechanics, Associate Editor for Gait and Posture, and Editorial Board Member for several international journals, including the Journal of Biomechanics. Dr Lu has served as President of the Taiwanese Society of Biomechanics and the 3D Analysis of Human Movement Technical Group of the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB). He is currently President of the Taiwanese Society of Movement Science and Technology, a World Council of Biomechanics member, and an executive council member of the ISB. He has chaired the 9th World Congress of Biomechanics (2022) and the 3DAHM Symposium (2016). He is a Board Director of Taiwan's National Institute of Sports Sciences and a newly elected Fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology (USA).
