Return to Tranquillity explores a diverse array of evidence-based and emerging options for addressing generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), including supplements, herbs, pharmaceutical drugs, and some other novel approaches. In particular, the book showcases the remarkable supplement N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG), which according to the reports of numerous GAD patients who tried it, can often greatly reduce the mental tension and worries of generalised anxiety disorder, and do so within two hours of taking it. For those who have spent years searching for a safe, efficacious, non-addictive, tolerance-free approach to manage their anxiety symptoms, NAG may be the long-awaited answer.Return to Tranquillity tells you all you need to know about taking N-acetyl glucosamine, including dosing, how and when to take it, the best NAG brands, how to obtain NAG at one third of the normal cost, NAG safety issues, and certain health conditions where caution about taking NAG may be warranted. In addition to its focus on N-acetyl glucosamine, this book also explores 12 other anxiety-management supplements and herbs which are backed by scientific research, or which are promising new emerging options, including ashwagandha, passionflower, valerian, lemon balm and chamomile. Unlike some books on natural remedies for anxiety that detail ineffective herbs, this book focuses on herbs and supplements which are consistently reported as effective by users on internet forums. This book is about carefully-vetted anxiety solutions that work. The book delves into the pharmaceutical landscape too, examining a wide range of drugs that can be used to manage anxiety, including pharmaceuticals that are FDA-approved for treating anxiety and GAD. There are many different anti-anxiety drugs available, but you may not be aware of them, because your healthcare provider may not have discussed these options with you. This book introduces the reader to 48 pharmaceuticals that can be used to address anxiety, describing the pros and cons of each drug, including side effects, possible health risks, and whether the drug can cause withdrawal symptoms on discontinuation. The book also explores some unusual methods for managing anxiety, such as removing gluten from the diet, and transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy.Return to Tranquillity provides a wealth of knowledge about options for managing anxiety. For those interested in the science, the book provides a clear explanation of the three brain neurotransmitter chemicals that play a fundamental role in anxiety disorders - GABA, glutamate and serotonin - and describes how anxiety-management supplements and drugs may reduce anxiety by acting on these neurotransmitters. One chapter delves into some of the latest research on the underlying physical causes of anxiety disorders in the brain. The book also examines the current anxiety epidemic among young people, and offers an intriguing idea about a hidden biological factor that may be causing this epidemic. This book uses clear, simple language and is easy to follow. No prior scientific knowledge is required, so the book is accessible to all readers. The information is provided in a concise and to-the-point manner, so that you can quickly identify anxiety-management solutions that may work well for you. The book includes 262 references to scientific studies and articles.Start your journey back to tranquillity now!The author has a long-standing interest in complementary as well as conventional health therapies, possesses a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics, and a master's degree in cognitive science, which is the interdisciplinary study of the mind and brain through the lenses of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, psychology, philosophy, linguistics, and anthropology.
