Paperback. "He'd been gone from the kingdom so long I never expected to see him again. Nevertheless, with every sun rising over the walls of my fair city his memory walked with me. Then one day, I found him. There he was, standing in front of me--I was telling him about the death of a prince and how we needed him to come back to help Kesan avoid a devastating war. But, all I could think was, 'I have found my mari. And I am not letting him go.'" - Kaywren of Forsolelh /-------/ Stephen and Kaywren have spent the last decade in their own worlds, separated by a near-forgotten portal. Impending war prompts the adopted princess of the medieval kingdom of Kesan to seek out her long lost teacher friend only to discover they were destined for each other. But, these aren't the only odds they'll have to beat to enjoy a life together. Joined by three friends, also from Stephen's world, they step into a land flooded with cryptic meanings and outlaws who are leaving a trail of blood and murky connections in their wake. Racing back and forth across Kesan, the group risks their lives with increasingly dangerous gambits as they work desperately to unravel the complex mystery behind this well-planned conflict and prevent a tragic loss of life. As troops pour onto the battlefield, the survival of these two idealistic dreamers is just another variable. But, they're absolutely sure about each other and that's what makes this story worth telling. This item is printed on demand.
