A philosophical fairy tale about fear, courage, and the light in the dark.
A beautifully told and unforgettable treasure for children and grown-ups alike.
High above the valley, up a thousand steep steps,
an old wise man lives alone in a mountain temple.
As his strength begins to fade, the village sends
a boy to him — so he may lend a hand and learn
his wisdom.
Among healing herbs, and old stories, a special
friendship begins to grow.
But when the boy confesses his fear of the dark,
the old wise man sends him on a perilous quest:
through shadowy forests, across mountains,
and down to the distant sea.
What begins as a search for a mysterious firefly
becomes a journey through darkness,
acts of bravery, and unexpected adventure.
It is the path of a small boy learning to grow
wise and brave.
