Print on Demand. This book recounts the early history of New York City prior to the Revolutionary War and contains the biographies of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Nathan Hale, sketches of John Andre and Beverly Robinson, and an account of schemes planned by Aaron Burr and Benedict Arnold. The author's work anticipates the city's centennial celebration and brings to light the characters, events, and ideas that shaped the city's identity. In addition to the aforementioned biographies, this book also includes autographs and biographical sketches of Henry Hudson, Petrus Stuyvesant, Alexander Hamilton, Major-General Alexander Hamilton, Beverly Robinson, Major John Andre, Aaron Burr, and Benedict Arnold, as well as a facsimile of an original official map of New York dated 1728. The author presents a balanced perspective on the motivations and actions of the key figures involved in the events leading up to the Revolutionary War, exploring themes of patriotism, ambition, and betrayal. The book sheds light on the complexities of the period and the human stories behind the historical events that shaped the course of American history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
