Paperback. A slow burn, high society Victorian romance The lady who would not be wed. A rogue to break her rules? Lady Meridith Downs longs to be married. She's just determined it won't be to any of the "suitable" (read: stifling) suitors her family have picked out! True love should feel like an adventure, and Meridith would rather be a spinster than settle for less. Enter Captain Drake Taylor. More at home at sea than in Society, Drake's roguish reputation should send any sensible lady running. Instead, his teasing charm awakens desires Meridith can't ignore. But actually falling for a man who won't be tied down might be an adventure too far. From Harlequin Historical: Your romantic escape to the past.
