Reports of Explorations and Surveys, to Ascertain the most Practicable and Economical Route for a Railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean 1853-1855 - (Vol. XII - Book I is the House of Representative Report & Book II. is the Senate Report) * BOOK DESCRIPTIONS: These two "Reports of Explorations and Surveys, were to "Ascertain the most Practicable and Economical Route for a Railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean 1853-1855." * Vol. I has 358 pages plus appendix A, including all 70 lithographed scenes and 3 folding maps. * BOOK CONDITION: Vol. 2. has the 399 page Senate Zoological Report including the index which has 6 uncolored botanical plates in unstained condition, 2 non colored plates of insects in unstained condition, 5 non colored plates of mammals in unstained condition, 8 colored ornithological bird plates in unstained condition, and 20 non-colored fish plates in badly stained condition. * Book I has no cover label but is in about fair condition. * Book II has a missing spine and no book label but is generally in about fair condition internally. * The maps from both books are not in good condition with tears * The size of both books are about 11 3/4 by 9 1/2 inches. * These two books came from a Book sale that the North Dakota Historical Society held in order to divest themselves of some duplicates, etc. * CONDITION: The cover definitely has wear. * Will require extra shipping for international sales.
