Item description from seller

8vo, pp. 34; original brown printed wrappers; aside from a few minor nick at the wrapper edges, this is a fine copy. Two editions were published in 1843, one in Providence and the other in New York. "Internal differences led Graff to believe that the New York edition was the earlier one . "Lang and Taylor were members of the Society of Friends who visited the Indians recently removed from east of the Mississippi to the trans-Mississippi regions. Their report was presented to the Yearly Meeting of the Friends of New England and New York before being published under the above title . They visited the Winnebagoes, Shawnees, Kickapoos, Delawares, Kansas, Osages, Cherokees, and Choctaws, between August and December, 1842" (Wagner-Camp). Field 855; Howes L72; Sabin 38868; Wagner-Camp-96.
