About this Item
1837. [Report From The Select Committee On Turnpike Roads, Ireland; Together With The Minutes Of Evidence, And Appendix.] The Committee was set up in response to a Limerick and Dublin petition, and found that relating to the turnpike roads between Dublin and Kilcullen, Naas and Limerick, Dublin and Ashbourne, and between Cork and Kilworth mountain tolls of an unusual character were in effect. This had been going on for some time it would appear, as the petition was originally from 1793, and some tolls had been granted. The resulting report, and particularly the appendix, allow for a view of movement and trade in early Nineteenth Century Ireland. 77pp. Excellent Condition. Disbound, housed in protective file. First edition copy. . . . Books ship from the US and Ireland. Seller Inventory # BP0128146
