Commissioned by President Lyndon B. Johnson, this landmark document—famous for concluding that "our nation is moving toward two societies, one black, one white—separate and unequal"—stands as one of the most significant and searing cultural assessments of race relations, systemic inequality, and civil unrest in 20th-century American history. A very well-preserved, structurally excellent early paperback edition of this historic document, complete with the original 32-page mid-book photographic insert documenting the events of 1967. Binding: Mass-market paperback. Surprisingly tight, square, and solid binding with no spine splitting or loose leaves typical of this edition. Interior: Pages are clean, crisp, and unmarked throughout. The 32 pages of black-and-white historical photographs are in excellent condition. A previous owner's last name is neatly written in ink on the inside front cover. Exterior Cover: Front cover displays beautifully with sharp text. The back cover shows a heavy diagonal crease mark across the surface, but remains fully intact. We pride ourselves on accurate grading and honest descriptions. We also understand the importance of safe transit: all books are wrapped securely in protective packaging to prevent corner damage, and shipped via tracked media mail (US) by default. If you receive your book and are less than delighted by its condition, we will refund your order.…
